Description

• Plan and implement materials, equipment, and inspections to support the project schedule.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability; coordinate with design engineers.
• Develop and manage project schedule and site logistics; collaborate with partner superintendents.
• Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, planning sessions, and site meetings; manage hiring and dismissal.
• Ensure proper task coding, track work progress, and provide training and career development discussions.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and lead by example with coaching and feedback.
• Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance; identify and mitigate unfavorable conditions; pursue process improvements.

Requirements

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline. The role focuses on developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service and offers opportunities at both level 1 and level 2 based on experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined by experience, location, and internal equity, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects from development to closeout.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
• Effective communication, active listening, and openness to diverse input and feedback.

• Superintendent II: minimum 8 years construction management experience; base pay $130,100–$195,200 (higher in select locations).
