Description

SUMMARY: Manages laboratory resources to ensure safe, regulatory compliance and expeditious processing of technical information and analysis in support of site objectives. Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in performing chemical and physical tests required for quality control of processes and regulatory compliance.

• Manages, maintains, and ensures compliance with all applicable Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols, including corporate, accreditation, and method requirements.
• Manages and ensures that laboratory operations are accomplished within budget and to company, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Manages laboratory safety program to ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
• Manages programs efficiently to process routine waste acceptance information in compliance with the Waste Analysis Plan (WAP) and good safety practices.
• Manages laboratory efforts related to waste pre‑acceptance reviews, treatability studies, and related activities in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Ensures laboratory procedures and practices comply with company policy and all local, state, and federal laws.
• Provides technical support to management and subordinates.
• Makes and implements recommendations for improvement in workflow.
• Forecasts and controls department resources.
• Maintains accreditation to certification bodies, when applicable.
• Maintains compliance with corporate laboratory policies, training requirements, and audit program.

Requirements

The role requires extensive knowledge of chemistry principles, quality management standards such as ISO and NELAC, and complex environmental waste regulations. The employee must also understand industrial safety practices, hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal operations, and possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Benefits

Pay range for this position is $99,800.00 to $137,300.00, dependent on locality. A bonus plan provides an annual incentive target of 10% of base compensation for eligible employees.
