What you would be doing

Prepare and submit required electronic forms including but not limited to: a job set-up form for each flagging assignment, daily work reports, invoices, and other reports as required
Maintain a high level of communication with the RWIC supervisors and managers regarding the various assignments and schedules
Provide the required jobsite protection on each assignment, error free and consistent with the rules; including but not limited to radio communication with train dispatchers and engineers, ensuring work groups are clear of limits during train movements, granting permission for trains and on-track equipment to proceed through limits
Perform daily job briefings with all personnel on the job site and ensure all personnel adhere to the safety requirements of the railroad
Actively participate in routine reoccurring safety classes and qualification training
Handle and place signs, derail and other tools and equipment weighing 15 to 90 pounds, which may be necessary multiple times throughout the day

Proficient in the radio procedure for communicating between AMF and assigned work group
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Employment is contingent upon the successful outcome of pre-employment and recurring background checks and drug and alcohol testing, as well as classroom and field training, including assessments. Successful completion of all onboarding and recurring training requirements is mandatory for continued employment.
A minimum of 2 years in track and/or construction experience
Proficient in performing job briefings with all the roadway workers within their work location
Able to complete required physical demands and/or tasks
Prior experience working within a railway company
Able to effectively warn roadway workers of the approach of trains
Former construction experience which requires compliance with OSHA regulations or the equivalent
WMATA AMF On-Track Worker and Operating Rules
Prior construction experience
Former Military, Law Enforcement, Fire & Emergency Medical, or related occupations
Former Shipyard experience
Understand the On-Track Safety training and qualification required of the roadway workers to be protected
Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
