Financial Director

Description

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the full financial management of the Group, with a strong focus on construction and property development operations. The Finance Director will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening controls, and supporting sustainable growth.

• Financial oversight of capital projects, acquisitions, and disposals
• Delivery of budgets, forecasts, and KPI reporting to support decision-making
• Lead and develop the Group finance function across multiple operating companies
• Act as lead contact for auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and professional advisers
• Preparation and consolidation of monthly management accounts
• Management of banking relationships, debt facilities, and development finance
• Provide commercial insight to improve profitability, cost control, and operational performance
• Full financial oversight of construction and development activities, including job costing, WIP, CVRs, margin analysis, and cost control

Requirements

• Experience at Finance Director, Senior Financial Controller, or Head of Finance level
• Strong experience with WIP, CVRs, job costing, and project-based accounting
• Ownership of cashflow forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning
• Fully qualified accountant: ACA / ACCA / CIMA
• Proven ability to manage bank funding, debt structures, and lender negotiations
• Background in construction, property development, housebuilding, or asset-intensive sectors
• Commercial, confident, and comfortable operating in an owner-managed or SME environment
