Sales Manager for Lighting Products

Description

High-profile field sales management position within the Trade (C&I) Channel. Responsibilities include managing and motivating a factory sales force, key customer interaction and responsibility, and oversight of agent sales partners if applicable.

• Develop, implement, track, and report on regional sales growth plans and target account opportunities.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with key distributor partners in the region, acting as primary interface and voice of the customer to internal teams in operations, finance, and product marketing.
• Manage the overall regional business to achieve maximum sales, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Proactively identify and resolve personnel issues in conjunction with Human Resources, as required.
• Achieve regional sales targets by growing current customer mix, new business development and seating new products; participate in both high-level and local strategy-setting to help achieve these targets.
• Provide the business with forecasts and opportunity pipelines on an ongoing basis via a CRM tool.
• Provide disciplined performance management for a sales team; define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate market trends, competitive info, new opportunities, and the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders.
• Provide overall management expertise for assigned key accounts with focus on product mix, new product introductions, and opportunities to grow share.

Requirements

• Position incumbent averages 10-15 years of sales experience.
• Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers, from sales employees to C-level executives.
• Valid driver’s license and able to travel without restrictions.
• Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks as well as respond to upper management requests in a timely manner.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas a suggestions clearly and effectively to all levels.
• Position is not eligible for relocation or work sponsorship.
• Be able to ensure the correct delegation, execution and follow up of work; ensure quality standards and policies are being met; able to set expectations and manage a team.
• Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the LEDVANCE organization to achieve business results effectively and professionally.
• BS plus minimum 10 years of experience, or master’s degree plus minimum 8 years’ experience required in a sales channel utilizing distributor partners.
• Strong relationship-development skills resulting in long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships.
• Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills
• Position requires 50-75% regional travel.
• Motivate and manage a direct factory salesforce.
• Proven success in effectively managing directly and through influence by prioritizing tasks for both self and team to meet business requirements and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills: ability to accomplish multiple tasks within agreed-upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties in a fast-paced environment.
