  • Own Gas Quality & Export: Ensure the upgrading plant consistently meets the high-quality specifications required for export and maintain continuous, smooth operation with the National Grid.
  • Maximise Uptime: Execute planned and corrective maintenance on the core plant to guarantee maximum asset availability and meet demanding generation targets.
  • Team Growth: Work alongside and be mentored by experienced O&M personnel to build strong in-house technical capabilities.
  • Engine Support: Perform basic diagnostics and planned maintenance on supporting CHP engines.
  • Process plant maintenance (chemical, water treatment)
  • You’ll be part of a wider network of experts across operations, engineering, and compliance — all working together to deliver great water and a greener North West.

  • An aptitude for fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Diagnose & Optimise: Learn to adjust and tune the gas treatment and upgrading processes to achieve peak biomethane purity and flow.
  • You must have a valid driving licence
  • Industrial or large engine maintenance (a plus, but not essential)
  • Proactive, safety-conscious, and highly motivated attitude with a strong desire to learn and master new, complex systems
  • A solid technical background: Proven hands-on experience in areas such as:
  • The Biogas Upgrading Process and all associated ancillary equipment.
