HS&E Advisor

Description

The HS&E Advisor reports to the Manager, HS&E and leads the application of professional health, safety, and environment practices at assigned work or project sites. In this role you will advise operations teams and clients on safety matters, guide HS&E personnel, and ensure compliance with safety management systems, legislation, and industry standards.

• Conduct hazard assessments, inspections, and focus audits; report findings and verify corrective actions.
• Provide on‑site guidance for implementing HS&E programs, emergency response, performance metrics, and safety systems.
• Mentor and support HS&E Coordinators and Advisors to improve safety processes.
• Collect, analyze, and report safety data; assess effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Lead complex incident investigations, determine root causes, and train teams on investigation procedures.
• Assist supervisors with occupational injury/illness management, return‑to‑work monitoring, and preventive measures.
• Communicate persuasively with stakeholders at all project levels to ensure HS&E compliance.

Requirements

This is a site‑based position that requires travel to multiple locations and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will apply your expertise across diverse work environments, supporting both day‑to‑day safety operations and strategic safety initiatives.

Qualified candidates have at least two years of practical HS&E experience in the mining sector, a strong understanding of MSHA regulations and 30 CFR, and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills, the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, and the capacity to meet pre‑access requirements such as a clean driver’s abstract and drug screening are also required.

• Maintain compliance with MSHA regulations and 30 CFR; possess or pursue a MSHA Blue Card.
• Demonstrate 2+ years of mining HS&E experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Meet pre‑access requirements including a clean driver’s abstract, drug screen, and breathalyzer.
