The role supports the commercial and cost management of MEP works across residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, fit‑out, and industrial building projects. It is responsible for preparing accurate quantity take‑offs, Bills of Quantities, and cost plans, and for supporting tendering and cost estimation activities. The position also contributes to interim valuations, variation assessments, cash‑flow forecasting, and final accounts while ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with standards.
Key responsibilities include undertaking quantity take‑offs for electrical, firefighting, plumbing, and HVAC using standards and software tools such as CostX and AutoCAD, and drafting or validating Bills of Quantities with bulk checks. The role supports cost estimation by identifying material and labour rates and performing rate analysis, and leads hospital construction or renovation projects involving MEP and biomedical systems, managing vendors, contracts, and service agreements. It also monitors budgets, timelines, and quality, prepares interim payment recommendations, maintains cost control documentation, manages change control, and provides cost reporting, cash‑flow forecasts, variation valuations, risk allowance tracking, and final account preparation. A basic knowledge of key building components and construction methods related to MEP works is required.
Candidates should hold a diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing technology and have three to six years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or estimation for MEP projects across residential, commercial, hotel, hospital, fit‑out, and industrial/warehouse developments. Proficiency in CAD, Cost‑X, and other quantification/estimation software, as well as advanced skills in MS Excel and Word, is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are also required.
