  • Complies and participates in facility specific safety program
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology as related to building systems and equipment, and emergency response regarding fire and life safety
  • Maintains and cleans mechanical, electrical and shop areas
  • Coordinates parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors and inventory
  • Perform that task under the direction of the Facility Coordinator (Engineer) – one or many times depending on the complexity of the task and when the Facility Coordinator (Engineer) is satisfied that the Entry Level Facility Coordinator has mastered the task
  • Perform that task under the direction of the Chief Engineer to approve and confirm that the Entry Level Facility Coordinator has mastered the task
  • Provides highest quality of service to the tenants, staff, and visitors at the facility
  • Under the direction of a Facility Coordinator (Engineer) optimize the repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. Uses and helps provide best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system problems so that problems are resolved in the most efficient and effective manner
  • Complies and participates with ABM Engineering Services’ safety program
  • As appropriate, records all pertinent data in building log books and makes all appropriate daily entries
  • Observe a specific task assigned to a Facility Coordinator (Engineer) – one or many times depending on the complexity of the task
  • Participates in regular required communication with Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, management, tenants, and other staff
  • Under the direction of a Facility Coordinator (Engineer) maintains and performs repairs to buildings, utilities, grounds, and equipment
  • Process administrative paperwork in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Once the task has been mastered to the satisfaction of the Chief Engineer, the Entry Level Facility Coordinator will perform the task with little or no supervision
  • Complies with ABM Engineering Services’ and facility’s policies and procedures

  • Maintains regular attendance in the workplace
  • Demonstrates commitment to learn all facets of the trade, specific building, and industry in general
  • Computer skills at a level to interact with building and ABM Engineering Services computerized systems in place
  • Working knowledge of energy conservation strategies (energy saving lighting, etc.)
  • 1 - 2 years' related experience, preferably in a commercial setting
  • HVAC or Trade Certification a plus
  • Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as required
