Performs design review of site plans, development plans, preliminary plats, parking plans, sign plans, landscaping plans and related plans and proposals as submitted by the public.
Prepares and presents written and oral reports to project managers and project team.
Prepares and presents current affairs and trends in land use planning and development to the project management team.
Manages monitoring efforts of transportation and other public infrastructure needs to ensure coordination with planning activities.
Responsible for revisions and amendments to the zoning ordinance required by the client and the project.
Leads in the creation, implementation and administration of any necessary permit procedures, including measures to protect caps, vegetation and erosion control and describes and explains processes and procedures to the project team.
Investigates, analyze, and resolve issues with public and private development plans to ensure compliance with federal and state policies.
Performs on-site reviews and documents compliance with site plans.
Complies with all policies and standards
Performs floodplain administration, prepares drainage report reviews, and issues or denies floodplain permits; documents flood events on digital photos.
Investigates and resolves complaints of zoning violations, prepares related reports and provides information and analyses to the project managers and project team.
Responds to questions relating to land use codes by the client and project team.

Knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to planning, subdivisions, historic preservation, and zoning operations.
Advance knowledge in word processing, spreadsheet, power point and database applications appropriate to assigned duties
Expert knowledge of economic development principles as related to impacts on land use development.
Knowledge of City-County planning and zoning-related ordinances, rules and regulations.

Bachelor Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a directly related field and 4 years of experience Urban and Regional Planning. Required
Ability to use GIS, mapping, surveys and related spatial analysis tools and software.
Ability to perform a wide variety of difficult technical tasks with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
Valid driver's license Required
Ability to use logical thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and oral instructions.
Familiar with architectural and construction terms, materials and general practices; ability to read and review construction plans, working drawings and sketches.
