The Summer 2026 MEP Design Intern will join the Chicago team to support MEP engineers on design, drafting, and documentation activities, working on a hybrid or onsite basis depending on client and project needs.
- Assist MEP engineers in producing design plans, diagrams, schedules, and detail drawings.
- Update Revit and AutoCAD models, including sheet setup, view organization, and basic family or block creation.
- Conduct equipment research, organize cut sheets, perform simple calculations, and aid load summaries under supervision.
- Prepare field‑survey documentation such as photo logs, existing‑condition notes, and punch‑list tracking.
- Organize coordination materials—markups, meeting notes, action items—and maintain project folders and standards.
- Perform QA/QC tasks including drawing checks, redline incorporation, and consistency verification across sheets and schedules.
- Assemble project documentation packages like narratives, basis‑of‑design content, and milestone submittals.
- Collaborate with architects, structural, electrical, and civil engineers on multidisciplinary projects.

- Pursue a four‑year mechanical engineering degree at an accredited university.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess exposure to Revit, AutoCAD, and related design software.
- Exhibit strong teamwork, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Prior internship, co‑op, or project experience with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, power, lighting, or building systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar design and markup tools (preferred).
- Interest in building‑systems coordination, constructability concepts, and a willingness to learn quickly and take ownership of tasks (preferred).
