The OHE Operator installs aerial conduit, cables, transformers, pull boxes, transformer pads, and switchgear, supporting the line team and collaborating with department personnel. The role focuses on safe equipment operation and coordination with other crew members.
- Operate jobsite equipment safely (e.g., mobile cranes, bulldozers, excavators).
- Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs on machines; monitor oil and fluids.
- Inspect digging areas to confirm they have been staked or located before excavation.
- Stake or locate work areas prior to digging.
- Assist maintenance crew or work as laborer when not operating equipment.
- Excavate around all live underground and overhead utilities.
- Train, guide, or supervise lower‑graded operators and laborers as needed.
- Follow the higher of MasTec or customer safety standards and procedures.
- Load trucks safely and without accidents.
- Improve operations, reduce turnaround times, and streamline work processes while delivering quality customer service.

- Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year relevant experience, valid driver’s license, OSHA 10 certification.
- Preferred qualifications: 2 + years experience and CDL Class A driver’s license.
