Tasks

-Maintains ongoing files and records on program participants and actions and develops forms, program documents, letters and correspondence -Provides information to the ill/injured employee and their manager on the return-to-work process as well as educating both of the workplace parties on their rights and obligations -Assists ill/injured employees and their managers to develop a plan to return to their pre-injury job, with or without accommodations, and works with health providers in order to define specific work accommodations for individual employees as needed -Collaborates with departmental and other key staff to identify essential job criteria, develop accommodation options, and obtain appropriate job descriptions -Interprets complex legal or policy documents pertaining to disability management and helps develop, recommend and implement program policies and procedures -Participates in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures and facilitates the placement of employees in appropriate available positions -A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. -Collects and analyzes data; developing, maintaining and presenting statistical and other reports in order to track program performance, injury reduction and/or cost containment -Provides timely updates to the management regarding complex and/or challenging situations

What You Bring

-Seven or more years of experience in disability management, occupational health, or case management. -Professional certifications such as Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS), Certified Case Manager (CCM), or similar education -Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. -Knowledge of California leave laws (such as CFRA, PDL, FEHA) and federal regulations (ADA, FMLA, ERISA, USERRA); experience with multiple state leave laws is a plus. -Experience assessing complex cases and reviewing medical documentation. -Experience as a liaison with employees, managers, third-party administrators, and other stakeholders -Experience managing disability claims and protected leave cases in a self-insured or large employer setting.

Benefits

-This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
