- Fills or repairs dents or scratches and smooth surfaces.
- Performs all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policy
- Identifies parts for cut-in and edging
- Re-assembles painted vehicle and painted parts
- Ensures hazardous material is stored and discarded properly
- Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Prepares surfaces to be painted by grinding, sanding, or buffing to remove old paint, rust, grease, or other dirt
- Delivers customer satisfaction throughout repair and verifies quality of work
- This role occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Assesses and determines repairs necessary to fix specified vehicle
- Completes repairs according to the documentation on the repair order or the supplement
- Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts
- Reviews each repair order, work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the vehicle
- Performs a final quality check and review of work order prior to sending the vehicle to the detail department
- Performs all necessary repairs and ensures work orders are completed within allotted time
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment
- Installs and repairs truck equipment on damaged vehicles
- Performs initial tear-down of vehicle
- Mixes paint according to specification, existing colors or customer request and applies paint evenly using a brush or a sprayer

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Works in extremely bright or inadequate lighting
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Minimum two years of training and experience in Body Shop with collision repair preferred
- Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity
- Must be self-motivated with a high commitment to completing tasks in a timely manner
- High School diploma or GED; any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of education
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Must provide own tools
- Minimum four years of painting (collision repair) and in body/collision paint techniques and detailing preferred
- Valid driver’s license, CDL and DOT medical card preferred
- Exposure to high noise levels
- Ability to read, write, and understand information
- Two years of experience in a heavy-duty truck Body Shop or automotive body shop environment preferred
- Less than 3% travel, based upon training and certifications
- Ability to use repair equipment per vendor procedures
- Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
- Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
- Knowledge of welding, heavy duty suspensions, mechanical repairs, metal fabrication, hydraulic and electrical equipment systems
- This position is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
