Key responsibilities include supervising the financial health of projects, creating and tracking financial and equipment projections, allocating estimates, determining cost codes, and approving invoices. The manager will handle billing, subcontracts, suppliers, and budget selections while leading assistant project managers and engineers, assigning jobs, and providing training. Acting as the primary contact with owners and on‑site representatives, the manager resolves site concerns, manages change orders, and ensures necessary approvals.
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to provide overall leadership for one large project or multiple projects, overseeing quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the project team. The role requires developing and improving customer relationships through excellent service and strong written and verbal communication with staff at all levels. Flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, integrity, and confidentiality are essential for success.
The position also requires maintaining project schedules and budgets, and managing quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or construction discipline or possess equivalent experience, and have at least eight years of construction or project management experience. Additional requirements include strong communication, a basic understanding of construction law, intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and project software, a positive professional attitude, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel up to 100%.
