Property Agent Trainees become eligible for promotion to the target classification of Property Agent 1, upon successful completion of the development program. The length of the development program is determined by the experience and training requirements of the designated class of Property Agent 1 and the prior education and experience of the selected candidate. The development program will not exceed (3) three years.

Experience leveraging organizational skills to prioritize work and efficiently manage time, resources and multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
Experience analyzing problems and utilizing resources to recommend effective solutions
Experience reading, interpreting and understanding engineering and design drawings and plans

Property Agent Trainees are the Department's entry level positions in Rights of Way. Property Agent Trainees receive training in real property acquisition and relocation services, property management, leasing, appraisals, title examination, closings, and deed preparation as they relate to the work of the Division of Rights of Way and perform a wide variety of increasingly difficult duties as technical skills are acquired during the course of the development program.
Oral and written communication skills;
utilize computer software.
Applicants must be available to travel to and attend trainings, conferences, public meetings, field reviews, etc., both within and outside of normal working hours, when necessary, and must possess and retain a valid driver's license.
