The manager will lead a manufacturing team of approximately six direct reports to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals, reporting to the Operations Manager for MVCA and directing daily manufacturing processes through subordinate supervisors.
This role directly impacts the performance of the Medium Voltage Controls and Medium Voltage Drives assembly lines, carries high internal and external visibility, and is critical for succession planning within the division.
- Plan and monitor key metrics for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Ensure production meets budget, schedules, and quality specifications.
- Enforce safety compliance and support a Zero Incident Culture via MESH.
- Develop and lead a quality‑focused manufacturing workforce.
- Hold regular production meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
- Execute required documentation and system transactions for reporting.
- Coordinate manufacturing schedules and priorities to satisfy customer requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to remove production bottlenecks.
- Optimize labor allocation and overtime planning for cost‑efficient scheduling.
- Utilize digital tools for real‑time performance tracking and proactive issue resolution.
- Communicate production status, commitments, and risk mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Participate in facility community involvement activities.
- Oversight of production, continuous improvement, and quality costs through Lean principles.
- Empower business ownership at all organizational levels.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of manufacturing experience, three years of management experience, and the ability to relocate to Asheville, NC; the company does not provide immigration sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include an engineering or industrial management degree, a master’s, MVCA product line experience, knowledge of power and electrical systems, SAP/MAPICS/Enovia proficiency, Power BI skills, and familiarity with Eaton’s Business and Quality Systems.
- Knowledge of current manufacturing, engineering, materials/purchasing, and quality assurance methods in MVCA.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing processes and cost control.
- Strong interpersonal communication and team‑building skills.
- Familiarity with electrical components, diagrams, systems, and market knowledge.
- Ability to lead change, motivate, and inspire ownership of continuous improvement.
Benefits
The expected annual salary range is $109,000 to $159,000, serving as a general guideline that will be adjusted based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
