Tasks

The Bookkeeper and Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the company’s accounting and budgeting processes. This role involves handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. -Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. -Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. -Advise management on financial decisions, cost-saving opportunities, and compliance issues. -Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in accounting systems. -Monitor cash flow and report on financial performance and variances. -Prepare and file tax returns, GST/HST, payroll remittances, and other statutory reports. -Support the external audit process by providing required documentation and explanations. -Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and payroll entries. -Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation and filing systems. -Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts monthly.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with financial reporting standards and audit preparation. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability. -Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. -Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS). -Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. -Experience in [insert industry, e.g., energy, construction, or non-profit]. -Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (public or private sector). -Professional designation or in progress (CPA, CMA, or equivalent). -Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field. -Excellent Excel and data management skills.
