The Service Manager is responsible for planning, preparing, and managing projects from inception to completion to maximize productivity and meet customer requirements. This role owns field execution, oversees safety, quality, productivity, on‑time delivery, and cost targets (Fulfillment 5), and serves as the primary customer interface while ensuring compliance with local legislation.
Travel, including holidays, weekends, and overtime, may be required to support field assignments, and additional duties may be assigned to advance the FieldCore vision and align with the organization’s core values. The position also involves collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold GE Vernova’s core values.
- Develop field service outage cost estimates and plan schedule, cost, man‑loading, and job set‑up.
- Manage projects end‑to‑end, including PO mapping, risk analysis, and performance against Fulfillment5 and customer KPIs.
- Serve as primary customer interface, coordinating with Customer Service Manager, CSL, and CPM.
- Review forecasts, sub‑contracts, and negotiate terms to maximize utilization and meet catalog targets.
- Communicate daily with Field Service Coordinators, Resource Managers, EHS Managers, and Project Managers to ensure project success.
- Lead daily execution status calls, Day 2 calls, and OEL spot‑check calls for accountability.
- Monitor project progress and costs with project controls, conduct audits and inspections during installation and commissioning.
- Analyze close‑out metrics, review revenue pacing, approve supplier invoices, and manage PO limits and accounts receivable.
- Implement corrective actions based on safety observations, communications, and root‑cause analyses.
- Interview, assess, and recruit candidates; recognize strong performance through site incentives.
- Ensure EHS compliance by collaborating with Site EHS Specialists and executing FME plans.
- Oversee field team execution, including outage and construction managers, and support pre‑ and post‑outage customer meetings.
- Identify and requisition tooling and third‑party services as needed.
- Approve technical reports and maintain documentation.
