- Participate in every aspect of the development cycle, including refining specifications with the product owner, developing clean and maintainable code, writing unit tests, doing code reviews and maintaining and improving existing code.
- Work closely with the product owner and design team to deliver a high quality and consistent user experience.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to support live applications.
- Collaborate, support and share expertise with other team members.
- Maintain and continuously improve the building and delivery of our single page applications to reduce initial page load time and improve performance and responsiveness.
- Participate in the development of new functionalities by designing and developing server-side services, APIs (Ruby on Rails) and web applications (Angular).
- Investigate, evaluate the impact and resolve anomalies and bugs in live applications.

- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications in a cloud environment.
- Understanding of common client and server side vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10).
- Experience in writing automated tests (unit, integration).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - You are confident in your ability to communicate with the team as well as with internal stakeholders.
- Strong, practical understanding of object-oriented programming languages, RESTful APIs, networking, and relational databases.
- 5+ years of experience in a related role.
- Experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails.
- You are resourceful and able to work well in a team-based environment.
- Experience with Docker and deploying applications on Kubernetes.
- Location: : This role can be based anywhere in Canada (excluding Quebec) as a fully remote position. For candidates located in the Vancouver, BC Lower Mainland, there is flexibility to work remote, hybrid, or onsite at our Surrey headquarters.
- You are passionate about coding and have a curious mind and are keen to learn new tools and technologies.

- Excellent organizational skills - You are able to organize your time and prioritize tasks efficiently with mature judgment.
- Previous project or work experience with Angular.
- Experience working with AWS.
- Working knowledge of a JavaScript SPA framework (e.g. Angular, React).
