Commercial Property Staff Accountant

Description

• Provide audit documentation and reporting
• Monitor data integrity and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Assist in annual budget preparation and forecasting
• Enter key financial terms, dates, and lease modifications
• Support ROU asset and lease liability calculations
• Ensure accurate lease classification and accounting treatment
• Support year-end audit and tax documentation
• Complete CAM reconciliations and revenue recognition
• Prepare and maintain amortization schedules
• Maintain lease data and financial records in Yardi platforms
• Process monthly journal entries and general ledger activity
• Prepare balance sheet schedules and analytical reporting
• Maintain rent rolls and tenant billing
• Perform full-cycle property accounting for assigned assets
• Review expense allocations and property tax accruals
• Provide financial support to property management teams
• Monitor budget-to-actual performance and variances
• Process accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable

Requirements

• Possesses strong professional judgment and integrity
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong understanding of ASC 842 and lease accounting
• Prior experience in commercial real estate strongly preferred
• Highly detail-oriented with strong technical accounting ability
• Proficiency with Yardi (Corom and Breeze required)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Able to collaborate across finance and property teams
