The Estimator will prepare and review construction cost estimates for large‑scale electrical, mechanical, and heavy civil projects at all development stages, including new construction, rehabilitation, alterations, capital improvement projects, and change orders, while collaborating with engineers on cost negotiations.
- Confer with designers, consultants, and contractors to develop detailed construction cost estimates.
- Prepare and facilitate cost estimates for all design and construction phases.
- Supervise quantity surveys and cost evaluations based on design documents, contract drawings, specifications, or change orders.
- Review contractor proposals, compare to scope, and determine fair value by trade and discipline.
- Communicate with contractors and subcontractors to convey client perspectives on reasonable costs.
- Participate in cost negotiations and assign/review estimating work.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, business, environmental services, or a related field, and possess at least five years of full‑time technical estimating experience in architecture, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing, with strong client focus and adherence to safety and ethical standards.
Preferred qualifications include experience with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, InEight, Procore, and others, a background in construction contractor estimating, and certifications like AACE CCP/CEP or ASPE CPE/QTO.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, business, environmental services, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years full‑time technical estimating experience in architecture, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing.
- Strong client focus and ethical decision‑making regarding company resources.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WSP health, safety, and harassment policies.
- Proficiency with estimating tools such as HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, InEight, ConEst, Procore, CostOS, ProEst, STACK, ServiceTitan.
- Prior construction contractor estimating experience.
- AACE CCP or CEP certification (preferred).
- ASPE CPE and/or QTO Estimating certification (preferred).
