Principal Engineer

• Analysing and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications
• Define customer needs and requirements
• Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for electrical systems or components
• Creating and maintaining product documentation, including product reports and design specifications
• Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budget
• Attending, hosting or coordinating technical meetings
• Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests
• Ensuring that products meet relevant safety standards and engineering code
• Analyse electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needs
• Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time
• Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products
• Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer for BESS Project in Sydney.

• Proficiency in HV substation design and Transmission Lines
• Strong ability to liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies
• B.Sc in Engineering or a recognized engineering qualification. Additional certificate in design in desirable
• Experience with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSilent)
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NER, AEMO, and NSP regulations
• Understanding of Grid Connection Process
• Experience in design review, verification, and assessment of renewable projects
• Good understanding of PV and BESS system design, integration, HV & LV AC & DC side
• Experience with design consultant SoW drafting
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience with review and modification works for schematic diagrams which shall be provided in Substation
• Experience in Renewable PV Solar Farm and/or large-scale Battery Storage projects (minimum 100MW)
• Understanding of power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, protection)
• Experience in an EPC environment managing project design scope, schedule, and budget
• Ability to develop detailed electrical drawings, calculation, specifications, technical proposals & reports
• Experience in AutoCAD or other software key to the discipline of expertise
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues
• Experience 5+ years detailed design/engineering experience in 132kV and above Substation & Transmission Lines in Australia
