Key responsibilities include leading transaction strategy, designing tax‑efficient structures for mergers, acquisitions, carve‑outs and reorganizations, identifying and quantifying historical tax exposures, drafting contract language to mitigate risk, and overseeing post‑close integration to preserve tax attributes. The partner will also cultivate relationships with private equity firms, legal counsel, investment bankers and C‑level executives, collaborate with audit and valuation partners, and represent the firm at industry conferences and webinars.
Team leadership responsibilities involve recruiting, training and mentoring managers and directors, managing the practice’s financial performance, including billing and realization rates, and ensuring the highest standards of risk management and compliance.
The firm is seeking an experienced M&A Tax Partner to lead and grow the Transaction Advisory Services practice. In this high‑visibility role the partner will serve as the primary strategic advisor to private equity groups, strategic corporate buyers and investment banks, overseeing the technical delivery of complex buy‑side and sell‑side tax due diligence and structuring while acting as the “Face of the Practice,” driving business development, mentoring a high‑performing team and managing the practice’s P&L.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics, an active CPA license or JD, and preferably a master’s in taxation or LLM. Candidates must have 15+ years of progressive tax experience, at least 10 years dedicated to M&A tax, deep expertise in Subchapter C, S and partnership taxation, and familiarity with international tax concepts such as GILTI, FDII and Subpart F.
