Description

The role involves unloading and loading trucks containing latex and raw glass rolls. Unloading duties include securing the trailer, scanning each roll, checking product quality, maintaining paperwork, and reporting any damage to the Shipping Manager. Loading duties involve verifying order numbers, pulling pick plans, obtaining tare weight, loading rolls on cradles, maximizing weight within DOT limits, and transferring pick plan information for bill of lading completion.

• Secure trailer and unload rolls, scanning each as it is removed.
• Verify product quality and report any damage to the Shipping Manager.
• Maintain proper paperwork for all loading and unloading processes.
• Unload latex and raw glass trucks.
• Verify order number and destination with the driver before loading.
• Retrieve pick plan using computer and obtain tare weight from the Shipping Manager.
• Load rolls onto cradles or blocking, maximizing shipping weight within DOT limits.
• Transfer pick plan and roll numbers to the Shipping Manager for bill of lading completion.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with coworkers and supervisors.
• Follow through on tasks and complete assignments without direction.
• Identify problems and develop timely solutions.
• Collaborate effectively and contribute to team building.
• Stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle objects regularly.
• Work in extreme cold, extreme heat, temperature changes, wet, humid, noisy, and varied atmospheric conditions.

Requirements

The job requires strong organizational, mathematical, and communication skills, the ability to follow through on tasks, problem‑solving, teamwork, and fluent English. Basic reading, writing, and tool‑use skills are needed, as well as the ability to operate a forklift after passing the certification test.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be willing to work rotating shifts and overtime. The position is physically demanding, requiring regular standing, walking, lifting, carrying, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling objects up to 75 lb, as well as good vision and the ability to work in extreme temperatures and noisy, wet environments.
