The role involves unloading and loading trucks containing latex and raw glass rolls. Unloading duties include securing the trailer, scanning each roll, checking product quality, maintaining paperwork, and reporting any damage to the Shipping Manager. Loading duties involve verifying order numbers, pulling pick plans, obtaining tare weight, loading rolls on cradles, maximizing weight within DOT limits, and transferring pick plan information for bill of lading completion.
The job requires strong organizational, mathematical, and communication skills, the ability to follow through on tasks, problem‑solving, teamwork, and fluent English. Basic reading, writing, and tool‑use skills are needed, as well as the ability to operate a forklift after passing the certification test.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be willing to work rotating shifts and overtime. The position is physically demanding, requiring regular standing, walking, lifting, carrying, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling objects up to 75 lb, as well as good vision and the ability to work in extreme temperatures and noisy, wet environments.
The position offers a $1,000 sign‑on bonus for new Atlas employees, with a starting pay of $20.92 that increases after 90 days.
