Monitoring/inspecting activities of directional boring excavators working around Company facilities.
Assisting with tracking metrics related to line locates, unlocatables and damages etc.
Maintaining files for future reference and retrieval.
Investigating should include determining root cause of damage and determining fault.
Coordinating with utility owners or their designee and GIS staff to perform an after-action review of any mismarked or damaged utility incidents to determine the root cause in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Establishing and maintaining positive employee, client and public relations.
Participating in damage prevention training to company employees and contractors.
Traveling to pre-determined work sites to follow up on operator and crew excavation safety practices and code compliance.
Monitoring prevention methods to reduce third party damages to Company facilities.
Performing "Courtesy Stops" when an excavator appears to be digging without locates. Encouraging the excavator to reconsider. Educating the excavator about personal and public safety hazards, 811, the state damage prevention law, and the potential for financial liability.
Coordinating with contractors, other utility areas, surveyors, and engineers, to locate utilities, aiding in their design and resolving conflicts regarding their location.
Reviewing and approving redline submittals of changes to GIS. Designing and implementing methods to ensure that utilities locations are kept accurate and up to date.
Monitoring quality of locates in designated high profile areas to prevent damages ahead of excavation.
Assisting and investigating with onsite analysis of cause the third-party damages to Company facilities.
Providing feedback to Damage Prevention Leader and Coordinators to develop new and more efficient procedures to mitigate gas damages.
Completing field reports detailing conversations, noncompliance activity, and determined resolutions to minimize utility damage risks.
Establishing positive and forward-thinking interactions between utility, public, and private contractors.
Utilizing the platform to enhance overall 811 public awareness.
Coordinating training meetings with contractors and municipalities.
Educating work crews and contractors on local law.
Collaborating with contractors to ensure damage free excavations.

Fundamental understanding of underground utility systems.
Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
Requires occasional regional travel.
Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse work group/environment.
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, PSC regulations and other state and local codes relative to field operations
Must have understanding of business procedures and accounting principles.
Must demonstrate sound communication, business judgement, decision making skills and maintain confidentiality.
Associate's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Documentation to include photographs, interviews, and any other pertinent information.
Must be proficient in the use of standard business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Visio and Windows).
UG Utility Experience including Utility Locating.
