The Gate Attendant/Scale Operator monitors and records waste volumes entering the post‑collection site and collects the appropriate usage fees from customers. This role ensures accurate billing and efficient facility operations.
Key duties include determining the material content of incoming waste, accepting or rejecting loads based on content and market guidelines, and communicating alternatives for special waste. The attendant collects payments, provides receipts, balances daily cash receipts, and deposits them securely. Waste is documented using truck scales and computer systems, and any special or hazardous loads are flagged to operations with the required paperwork.
Applicants should have prior experience handling cash, balancing receipts, and working with computer software. The position offers a salary range of $14.76 to $22.14 per hour.
