Highway Maintenance Operative with HGV Licence

Description

• Approach individuals in distress calmly, safely and respectfully
• Work as part of a team to deliver planned and reactive works efficiently
• Respond to incidents such as road damage, debris clearance, or weather-related hazards
• Undertaking winter maintenance duties
• Record and report all incidents in line with company and contractual situations
• Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and effectively
• Attend to Incidents where members of the public may be at risk of self-harm
• Carry out routine maintenance and preventative maintenance such as external and internal office maintenance, cleansing activities and ground maintenance.
• Immediately notify and liaise with emergency services & BEAR Scotland Network Hub as required
• Daily security patrols for both bridge areas and depot / office locations

Requirements

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to crisis situations
• Previous experience in routine maintenance
• Physically fit
• Previous experience of working alongside Emergency Services (Desirable)
• Full UK Driving Licence C2 Licence is required
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy & professionalism
• Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures relating to roadside and public safety
