McLean Contracting Company is seeking self-motivated, experienced heavy equipment mechanics to join our service team in the Chesapeake, VA and Baltimore, MD areas. Selected candidates will work on a wide range of equipment from marine cranes, pile driving equipment and marine to land fleet cranes, along with other mobile equipment. Ideal candidates will possess a strong ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and make the necessary repairs to heavy construction equipment with little supervision.

Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to read/ interpret hydraulic schematics.
  • Five (5) year relevant experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of friction cranes and Liebherr duty cycle cranes a plus.
  • Crane repair, erection/disassembly - CCO license a plus
  • High School diploma/GED/Trade School preferred
  • Ability to read/ interpret electrical schematics.
  • Commercial Driver’s License Class B is preferred; willingness to assist candidate with obtaining license.
  • Experience with marine electrical systems.
  • Marine diesel repairs - ABYC Certifications a plus
  • Experience with repairing hydraulic systems (pumps, motors, actuators,etc…)
  • Must meet DOT physical guidelines.
