The BIM Designer reports to the Director of VDC/BIM Services and will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and reviewing BIM models for complex construction projects, requiring intermediate-level expertise in Revit and Navisworks, quality checking, peer mentoring, and support for project teams to ensure accurate, constructible models that align with project standards.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining BIM models, setting up central models, sheets, views, legends, and schedules, managing Revit families and templates, preparing construction documents and record drawings, leading clash detection and coordination meetings, conducting site visits for model validation, reviewing team work for accuracy, providing mentorship, and applying advanced Revit MEP features and digital layout tools.
The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, has at least three years of Revit/BIM experience (or seven years in electrical construction), possesses intermediate knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, is proficient with Microsoft 365 and Bluebeam, and demonstrates strong problem‑solving, communication, attention to detail, and a team‑oriented approach with leadership potential, willing to travel 5–10% and work onsite as needed.
