- Protection of company assets by securing all loading doors, tools, and vehicles before during and after routes.
- Act as the representative of Habitat for Humanity ReStores to ensure that all donors are treated professionally and courteously.
- Ensure that care is taken to protect the security and safe handling of all donated goods and materials – From removal at donor, loading on truck, to delivery at store.
- Convey clear, concise information to others, using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.
- This includes keeping box area and cab area clean and organized.
- Follow safe practices in all work activities to avoid injuries and accidents.
- Maintain compliance with all issued training, including LMS training assigned by the affiliate.
- Treat others in a nondiscriminatory, lawful and ethical manner, respecting the differences among people, and the value they bring to HFHCAZ.
- Attempt to resolve any issues that may arise in the course of a donation pick up and immediately report issues that occur.
- Utilize schedule software to execute daily routes and pick up donations as assigned.
- Complete formal training plan and assignments as required.
- Complete Truck Inspection Report daily and report maintenance and safety conditions to supervisor verbally.
- Constant communication with call center dispatch on job updates and reschedules.
- Keep appropriate records.
- Identify items that meet quality standards and are suitable for resale following ReStore guidelines. Inspect donations carefully and enforce requirements tactfully.
- The entire job takes place in a large box truck, at donor sites, in ReStore warehouses, and occasional office or classroom settings.
- Use provided resources to contact donors if there is a change to previously communicated pick up time.

- Designated Safety Spotter wears vest, Traffic cone and chocks placement, etc.
- This includes use of the 80/20 rule.
- Familiarity with Phoenix Metro area.
- Dress code is casual and comfortable with issued uniform shirts and provided PPE; no sandals or open shoes allowed; steel toed boots recommended but not required.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and customers.
- Applicants need to pass a criminal background check. drug screening and MVR.
- Must pass driving and driver safety video series.
- Employee must be proficient in or able to use or learn to use office equipment such as computer, printer, phone, copiers, calculator, and other communication vehicles.
- Demonstrate commitment to Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and Value Proposition – and be able to, as a brand ambassador, advocate their message.
- Demonstrates the ability to use commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Knowledge of building materials and handling.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a truck driver.
- Must be self-motivated and carry a positive attitude as the brand ambassador.
- Possess a current and valid AZ driver’s license, with good driving record.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to bend, stand, twist, reach above shoulder, reaching below shoulder, walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must also lift and/or move 50 pounds or more. Safe lifting and team lifting of items over 75lbs is required Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision and ability to operate large vehicles.
- Mandatory PPE and safety resource usage at all times while operating vehicles and loading/unloading.
- Must maintain a neat appearance and good hygiene, including clean clothing and wearing of designated uniform and applicable PPE.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Able to operate the following equipment: Pallet jacks, forklift, hand carts/trucks, furniture hand truck dolly, ratchet straps and securing devices, Hand Tools, Power Tools, tablets, and cellular phones, basic first aid kits, fire extinguisher, and drive a Motor Vehicle (Box Truck).
