  • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
  • Serve as the on-site safety contact at customer sites with long-term projects, as part of a rotation with members of the safety team.
  • Develop field and trades personnel through coaching, feedback, and continuous training activities to assist in building the skills necessary to execute work safely.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Egan Company staff with respect to Loss Prevention goals, objectives, and key performance indicators.
  • Provide safety support for operations in Southern MN, including Rochester and the Kasson electrical prefabrication facility, with occasional travel to the Twin Cities and potential project-related travel outside of Southern MN.
  • Explore, research, and adapt new products, programs and/or technology that will further enhance the company’s Loss Prevention performance.
  • Engage regularly with field employees to assist and monitor loss prevention efforts.
  • Align and implement Egan Company Health and Safety programs and Loss Prevention initiatives.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
  • Perform incident investigations, document and update Egan leadership team.
  • Champion Egan’s Mission, Vision, and Values; lead by example.
  • Develop and foster relationships with project managers and other partners through performance of work.
  • Visit job sites and customer sites regularly; perform frequent job site evaluations, determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices.

  • Ability to navigate and resolve conflict effectively.
  • Alternatively, 5+ years of trades experience with a demonstrated understanding of safety protocols and practices.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel overnight and out of state.
  • 2-3+ years of safety experience in construction or related industry.
  • Solid history as a legacy leader in specialty contracting and system integration for over 80 years
  • Knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • A proven track record of employee retention and loyalty
  • Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • A degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work primarily throughout Southern Minnesota, while also being willing to support needs in the Twin Cities and other project locations.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as the role will require travel to various sites on a regular basis; A company safety vehicle will be provided as part of this position.
