Assist with bid-day activities and collaborate with other estimators to ensure successful bid submission.
Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including estimators, bid teams, subtrade partners, and suppliers.
Contribute to the development of a critical path schedule for the estimate or pursuit.
Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including mentoring and coaching.
Solicit competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers to support bid efforts.
Identify risks related to project-specific requirements, site conditions, schedule, and market factors, and recognize opportunities.
Perform quantity take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials from project documents.
Support bid document control by organizing, documenting, and archiving all information related to the estimate for a smooth transfer to the project team.
Lead small to medium estimates or contribute to larger estimates by reviewing all associated bid documents.
Assist the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and contributing to the pursuit schedule.
Analyze contract documents and specifications to determine project requirements and validate scope.

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related discipline, or equivalent trade experience.
Understanding of different construction delivery methods such as hard bid, GMP, unit price, design-build, target pricing, and cost reimbursable contracts.
Awareness of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, and competitive landscape.
Proficiency in estimating software and advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
Familiarity with specifications, drawings, materials, methods, and construction procedures.
Knowledge of bid preparation principles, including quantity takeoff, procurement, pricing, and bid-closing procedures.
General understanding of construction cost estimating processes.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including subtrade partners and suppliers.
