Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Description

The incumbent leads the manufacturing floor, aligning production schedules with customer expectations while driving improvements in on‑time delivery, labor utilization, and overall productivity. By granting decision‑making authority and fostering participation in change initiatives, the leader cultivates an engaged workforce. Continuous improvement is championed through lean principles and a dedicated framework system, targeting reductions in overdue orders, scrap, rework and overtime without compromising quality. Regular communication—including weekly team meetings, daily tier sessions, and shift handovers—ensures that vision, priorities, and critical information are shared across the plant.

• Lead manufacturing operations to meet schedules, exceed expectations, and boost delivery, utilization, and productivity
• Empower employees with decision‑making authority and involve them in change initiatives
• Promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement via a structured framework
• Reduce overdue orders, scrap, rework, and overtime while maintaining quality standards
• Train, evaluate, coach, and develop staff, managing certifications and cross‑training programs
• Support employees in achieving value‑stream, departmental, and plant objectives
• Maintain employee relations and enforce Union‑Management Labor Contract guidelines
• Conduct weekly team meetings, daily tier meetings, and shift handovers to share vision and priorities
• Keep accurate attendance, pay records, and overtime equalization per collective bargaining agreement
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, and maintenance to align plant goals

Requirements

The role requires an associate degree or higher and several years of hands‑on manufacturing experience, including recent leadership of production teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills such as CNC programming, electronics assembly, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Experience navigating labor‑relations under a collective bargaining agreement and supervising maintenance personnel is essential, complemented by a solid foundation in process‑improvement methodologies and project management. Effective interpersonal communication is critical for handling recruitment, training, motivation, discipline, and conveying senior‑leadership messages.

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Three or more years of manufacturing experience
• At least two years of experience leading or managing personnel
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience in CNC programming and electronics assembly
• Labor‑relations experience managing a team under a collective bargaining agreement
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and technical specifications
• Background supervising maintenance or similar technical teams
• Familiarity with process‑improvement methodologies and project‑management skills
• Strong interpersonal communication for recruitment, training, motivation, discipline, and conveying senior‑leadership messages
