Organizational Support: Responsible for the assignment of engineering resources to projects. Maintain short and long-range staffing projections based on work projections. Approve timesheets and expense reports of direct reports. Conduct unit’s annual performance appraisals. Support management in recruiting new employees
Business Development: Lead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget to PMs. Develop professional relationships with client counterparts. Assist in marketing the unit’s expertise and abilities to clients
Leadership & Staff Development: Identify and promote opportunities for site work. Identify and promote training opportunities (ex: owner’s groups, manufacturer, professional society). Utilize the review/approval process of deliverables as a technical training opportunity for staff. Provide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coaching. Promote professional development (ex: professional license, certifications, and client qualifications). Support company policies and procedures. Demonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter Experts. Support the Client Engineering Manager in maintaining, updating, and executing Continuous Improvement Plans. Supervise an Engineering Unit, discipline-specific, comprised of work group lead engineers and engineering staff
Products & Deliverables: Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, Project Managers (PM) and other internal constituents. Together with the PMs and lead engineers, define the scope of work for work proposals. Direct/assign work to the unit to balance activities between work groups. Maintain responsibility for the unit’s quality and establish and enforce quality standards for the unit. Accepts unit’s responsibility of budget and schedule for assigned projects. Assign unit’s Responsible Engineers (RE) and provide recommendation to the Client Engineering Manager of Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for unit led projects. Responsible for the approval of engineering documents produced by the unit. Certify design documents as required by state and local client and code requirements

Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience including experience supporting the nuclear power industry and 2+ years of leadership experience for Manager role, 3 plus years of engineering experience including 1+ year of leadership experience for an Associate Manager
Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with the team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship.
PE License is required for the Manager role
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
Ability to motivate the team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentals
Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
Required to travel up to 15 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings
Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust the level of support/oversight as appropriate
Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant environment and familiarity with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes
