The supervisor has overall responsibility for the production function, ensuring quantity, quality, schedule, cost, and compliance with safety, quality, governmental, and company standards. Direct management includes overseeing operations, workers, and meeting business and financial objectives.
Core duties include developing safety and environmental programs, leading EHS initiatives, preparing and monitoring budgets, coordinating annual plant shutdowns, providing technical maintenance support, planning and executing capital projects, maintaining engineering standards, supporting off‑shift staff, driving cultural change, resolving personnel conflicts, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities cover overseeing utility systems, equipment inspections, engineering stores, parts acquisition, predictive and preventative maintenance programs, and acting as a technical resource for safety, cost, quality, and service goals.
Candidates must hold a degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience). At least five years of maintenance/production experience—including electrical, chemical, welding, boiler, hydraulics, and related areas—and three years of supervisory experience are required. Experience with budgeting and financial reporting is preferred.
Required knowledge and abilities include industrial maintenance, plant electrical systems, AC/DC, boiler operations, welding, pneumatics, plumbing, and hydraulics, as well as the ability to read technical manuals, interpret data, solve problems, lead teams, produce reports, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
