The Lead Estimator will manage all estimating activities for CAM’s North American operations, supporting projects in both Canada and the U.S. This role oversees cost estimation for maintenance, small capital projects, turnarounds, and specialty services, delivering accurate and competitive pricing to fuel business growth.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and brings more than ten years of estimating experience in the construction or industrial sector. Experience includes preparing capital cost estimates ranging from $10 K to $50 M for facilities such as petrochemical plants, gas plants, refineries, and pulp‑and‑paper mills, along with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
The position requires the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and apply cost‑control methods and project‑management principles. Proficiency with estimating software such as ACCE, high attention to detail, and the capacity to perform physical tasks—including climbing, balancing, stooping, and lifting—are essential.
