What you would be doing

Produce purchase orders, subcontracts and contract change orders as needed to ensure accurate documentation of special projects and capital improvements
Review quality management test report data
Research regulatory requirements and provide advice to management and project personnel to ensure compliance
Respond to plant manager, foreman, superintendent, materials sales, and quality management staff to ensure operational efficiency
Aid in the preparation of annual operating budgets and review monthly plant reports to ensure budgetary goals are met
Review timecards for accuracy
Review/evaluate feasibility/cost of producing specific “non-standard” materials
Analyze and design capital improvement projects which add value to our operations
Prepare and keep accurate material flow diagrams for all plant operations
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
Track daily costs for special projects, key operations, and goal setting/evaluation
Communicate plant schedule to plant operations team to make sure team is aware of changes and delays

Experience with Hot Mix Asphalt Plants
3+ years of construction materials field experience
Proven understanding of plant operations and mechanical requirement.
Demonstrated knowledge of materials business
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for extended periods of time
Ability to establish relationships with agencies and represent Granite in a public forum
Demonstrated public speaking and ability to communicate with management
Strong understanding of federal, state and local laws, policies and procedures
Demonstrated proficiency of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field required
