Traveling Electrical Project Manager

Description

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Electrical Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients, general contractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.

• Manage project closeout, including punch lists, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and code requirements.
• Support preconstruction efforts, including takeoffs, value engineering, and design-assist input.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging in size from small tenant improvements to large-scale industrial builds.
• Coordinate closely with superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.
• Monitor labor productivity, job costing, and material usage to maintain profitability.
• Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements are met or exceeded.
• Lead all aspects of electrical project management including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and cost control.
• Conduct project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare RFIs, change orders, submittals, and other project documentation.

Requirements

• Proficiency with estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Accubid, MS Project).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical project management within commercial or industrial construction.
• Master or Journeyman Electrician License (preferred but not required).
• Problem Solving and Decision Making
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, and construction practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
