In this role, you'll be the trusted right hand to the Deputy Executive Director, providing high‑level support that keeps the Network Maintenance team running smoothly. You’ll help shape strategic decisions by delivering insightful advice, preparing reports, and coordinating ministerial responses that represent Network Maintenance with excellence, while also coordinating management of the Deputy Executive Director’s office and leading business improvement projects that drive efficiency and innovation. You’ll take ownership of critical documentation—business cases, committee papers, and mission‑critical submissions—ensuring accuracy and clarity at every step, as well as championing function initiatives such as succession planning, business system and process development to build an effective, efficient, and supported workforce. You thrive in a dynamic, 24/7 operational environment, balancing competing and dynamic priorities and supporting crisis management when needed.
You’re a self‑starter who loves being at the heart of the business, with the confidence to take ownership, make things happen, and demonstrate sound judgement, courage, and commitment as a member of the leadership team. You possess exceptional communication skills, able to craft clear, compelling briefs and reports that influence at the highest level. You’re highly organised and detail‑oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
You bring strong computer skills—Word, Excel, SharePoint—and can quickly learn and manage business systems and processes. You have experience in business coordination or management within a truly operational business environment. Collaborative and adaptable, you build strong relationships while navigating complex stakeholder needs. You are committed to continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence, ready to contribute to projects that make a real impact.
