Description

In this role, the Survey Technician will process and analyze field data, create precise maps and legal descriptions, research land records, contribute to technical reports, perform mathematical computations, develop client relationships, monitor regulatory compliance, implement innovative survey solutions, and assist field crews with equipment such as Leica total stations, GPS, and scanners.

• Process, organize, and analyze survey field data using Leica Infinity.
• Create and update precise maps, plans, and legal descriptions in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Research land records, deeds, and survey maps to ensure accurate results.
• Contribute to technical reports and documentation supporting project goals.
• Perform mathematical computations for plotting features and boundary lines.
• Develop and maintain trusted client relationships.
• Monitor projects for regulatory adherence and update the Project Surveyor.
• Implement innovative survey solutions for internal and external clients.
• Assist field crews operating Leica total stations, GPS, and scanning equipment.
• Participate in employee resource groups, community impact, and fun committees.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with an associate’s degree in surveying preferred, and 3–5 years of surveying experience. Required skills include knowledge of land‑surveying math and methods, experience processing survey data, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with PennDOT standards, along with strong problem‑solving, ownership, and communication abilities.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lb, a valid driver’s license, occasional travel to sites in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York, and the capability to work outdoors in varied weather and terrain.

• Hold a High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in surveying preferred.
• Bring 3‑5 years of surveying experience and knowledge of land‑surveying principles.
• Demonstrate experience downloading, processing, and organizing survey data.
• Show proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation Open Roads a plus.
• Familiarity with PennDOT field and office standards is preferred.
• Exhibit strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and ownership mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, hold a valid driver’s license, and travel to project sites.
