Assist with onboarding and developing less-experienced (typically “Engineer I, Configuration”) team members, including (but not limited to): providing training (one-on-one and/or in group sessions); hosting on-the-job shadowing sessions; writing/reviewing work instructions; creating/presenting/recording presentations; and/or reviewing/approving other team members’ tasking and deliverables.
Occasionally propose and/or lead various “special projects” aimed at proactively improving the efficiency and quality of the team’s processes and deliverables.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
As needed, remotely (via company-issued smartphone and laptop) provide rapid same-day “on-call” support outside of regular business hours (generally including nights, weekends, and holidays) when assigned in advance to do so via internally-maintained “on-call schedule/rotation” (typically for one continuous week, once every one to two months), in order to urgently support active planned/forced outages at customer sites physically serviced by MPW-A.
Provide technical support for system design, testing, and implementation activities to support ongoing part consolidation efforts within MPW-A. Identify shortcomings and missed information that result in business inefficiencies. Apply the principles from industry best practices and remain current on industry and technical skills in the areas of configuration management.
Collect and consolidate corporate baseline of GT, ST, and AUX installations supported by MPW-A. Study the aspects of equipment interchangeability and upgrade planning. Develop process improvements that support both the business and engineering teams in rapid access to accurate and current information regarding installation configurations.
Collect, analyze, summarize, and understand business requirements and accordingly develop configuration specifications (including design BoMs, service BoMs, parts catalogs, and quotable/procurable part definitions) to accurately document GT, ST, and AUX configurations at their various lifecycle states, including as-built assembly configurations and ongoing maintenance configurations (e.g., after each outage).
Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
Diligently protects all confidential information by not communicating it, disclosing it to, or using it for the benefit of third parties.
Rapidly (often within hours or days) respond to and support daily incoming transactional/LTSA customer requests for quoting/ordering GT, ST, and/or AUX parts, primarily via part clarification, part definition, and/or part publishing (i.e., from PLM system to ERP system).
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
Review and recommend changes to configuration management processes, develop process improvements to automate and streamline these processes, and suggest environment modifications to support system needs.
