  • Perform secondary operations as needed, such as grinding, buffing, and deburring.
  • Run parts and inspect them to verify they meet specified tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Conduct light machine maintenance, including checking and refilling oil and coolant.
  • Tear down setups and return tools and fixtures to their proper locations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Locate appropriate tooling and fixturing, then perform machine setup, including loading fixtures and tooling.
  • Read and verify blueprints, setup sheets, and specifications to determine required materials, tooling, fixtures, and inspection tools.
  • May be required to test new parts or work from revised prints without setup sheets.
  • Download programs and tooling offsets; test the first tool to ensure proper offsets.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete machine logs, production logs, and Kanban cards; deliver finished parts to designated areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including end-of-shift cleanup.

  • Proficient in using basic measuring instruments, such as calipers, dial bore gauges, and fixed gauges.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of proper use of hand tools.
  • Vocational program or CNC-equivalent machining experience
  • Experience of general shop math, Fanuc controls, and ability to read and follow programs, including feeds, speeds, G codes, and M codes.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral machining procedures.
  • Capable of reading and following blueprints, drill tap charts (inches), and setup sheets. Ability to use basic measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, holetest, dial indicators, edge finders, height gauges, depth micrometers, fixed gauges, and ID air gauges.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
