Construction Manager (Electric Utilities)

Description

• Implement, oversee, and maintain rigorous quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring all work meets or exceeds stringent quality expectations and specifications.
• Effectively manage, coordinate, and motivate construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely completion of all field activities.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records and documentation of all construction activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and safety documentation, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
• Champion a "Safety First" culture across all construction sites, enforcing strict adherence to OSHA regulations, PowerRise's safety standards, and clientspecific safety protocols.
• Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to monitor safety compliance, work quality, and environmental adherence, proactively identifying and rectifying potential issues.
• Rigorously monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure adherence to demanding schedules and budgets, proactively identifying and resolving any deviations or challenges.
• Collaborate closely and effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, procurement teams, and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and integration of construction activities.
• Direct and manage all phases of onsite construction, from preconstruction planning and site mobilization through to commissioning and final project closeout, ensuring strict adherence to project plans, specifications, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Experience managing union and nonunion labor.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage, mentor, and motivate diverse field teams in a fastpaced, demanding environment.
• Indepth understanding of construction methods, materials, heavy equipment, and safety regulations (OSHA) pertinent to the electric utility industry.
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and project tracking/reporting tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience with substation construction, upgrades, and/or maintenance projects.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with construction teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory bodies, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
• A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with a proven and verifiable track record of successfully managing and delivering complex electric utility construction projects (e.g., substation, transmission, distribution).
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety codes (e.g., NESC, NFPA 70E) and relevant utility standards.
