- Performs bench testing and calibration of mechanical and solid state meters.
- Performs interrogation and programming of meters and related equipment.
- In later steps, perform bench testing on CT, VT and CVT transformers.
- Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Performs various functions of the Meter Shop relating to the inspection, programming and testing of electric meters, metering equipment and auxiliary metering devices.
- Cut, copy, paste functions
- Maintains weekly production reports. Works closely with Engineering & Planning, as well as, project teams.
- Installs meter communication devices or upgrades as required.

- Effective verbal written and communication skills.

- Ability to follow company safety practices and policies.
- Basic knowledge of AMI and AMR systems, their components and associated communication technology
- Works with a variety of meters and metering technology.
- Skill in the use of hand tools needed for making required repairs and adjustments.
- GED or HS diploma required
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
- Familiarity with using basic electrical equipment such as volt, ohm and ammeter’s.
- Ability to advance through a 6 step developmental program. The steps will overview everything from safe work practices, metering concepts, mathematics and electrical theory. At the end of each step a proficiency test must be taken and passed to advance to the next level.
- Skill in reading schematic diagrams and wiring layouts.
- Proficient personal computer skills
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Skill in basic electricity and electronics, as applied to electrical wiring, power and meters.
- Knowledge of file formats and saving into proper directories
