The Training Consultant will develop and deliver training modules and courses for dealers and customer‑facing employees in Electric Power Generation. Responsibilities include creating curriculum, conducting assessments, supporting facility equipment, gathering performance data, and ensuring training materials comply with organizational policies. This role also assists with budget development and funding negotiations to improve dealer service capability and effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver Electric Power training modules, courses, and programs for dealers and customer‑facing staff.
- Conduct assessments to validate technical knowledge and skills in generator set installation, operation, maintenance, and advanced paralleling concepts.
- Support facility equipment and training aids, including installation, upgrade, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Gather and analyze EP customer service performance data to measure training ROI and improve effectiveness.
- Review and maintain training materials to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Evaluate new training methods, tools, and content options for future training program feasibility.

The position is located in Peoria, IL and requires a five‑day‑a‑week onsite schedule with up to 25% travel. No relocation assistance or visa sponsorship is offered. The role reports to the PSLD team and works closely with contractors, facility managers, and internal stakeholders to maintain training equipment and programs.
- Required technical expertise: single‑ and three‑phase AC systems, safe work practices, troubleshooting, and diagnostic equipment usage.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex electrical concepts and interpret ideas accurately.
- Customer‑focused mindset to align solutions with customer needs and drive satisfaction.
- Problem‑solving ability using appropriate tools and techniques for operational challenges.
- Preferred knowledge of training processes, generator sets and controls, power factor, electrical loading, and energy storage technologies.
- Familiarity with automotive and industrial communications networks, diesel and gaseous‑fueled engines, rotating equipment alignment, and vibration analysis.
- Completion of Caterpillar Instructor Accreditation Program and experience with desktop publishing software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience with ET, SIS, and TMI training platforms.
