The Maintenance Team Leader is accountable for directing a team of technicians who deliver preventative and corrective maintenance across assigned facilities. This role ensures that all work aligns with established processes and complies with internal and external environmental, health, safety, and fire protection standards. In addition to supervisory duties, the leader actively performs maintenance tasks and remains available for on‑call and emergency response.
As a people leader, the role involves guiding, coaching, and developing individual contributors while monitoring work progress and performance. The leader fosters adherence to operating procedures, quality standards, and contractual obligations, and actively participates in safety and training initiatives.
Candidates are expected to bring 7‑10 years of facility operations and maintenance experience, including 3‑5 years in a leadership capacity, complemented by a high school diploma and relevant trades training. Advanced expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical building systems, a strong client‑service orientation, and effective communication skills are essential.
The position requires holding one or more journeyman‑level licenses (refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing) or a Power Engineering 4th Class certification. Work is performed in shift rotations with on‑call and emergency availability, and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
Compensation is a regular full‑time hourly wage ranging from $36.27 to $45.34, determined by experience, education, and performance. BGIS is committed to equal employment opportunities and provides accommodations throughout the recruitment process to ensure accessibility for all candidates.
