The Quality Technician inspects products to verify they meet both company and customer standards. The role involves documenting inspection outcomes, identifying non-conforming parts, and quarantining them when necessary.
The technician determines root causes for non-conforming items, validates first-article inspections across all production lines, and carries out scheduled control and process audits. Findings are reported using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and quality alerts are generated to inform operators of issues.
Investigation of non-conforming products employs problem-solving techniques, while the technician contributes to pre-production planning, creates assembly documentation, and supports manufacturing engineering with machine capability studies and gauge calibration. The position also adheres to health, safety, and environmental policies.
Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or GED, have a minimum of one year of quality experience in manufacturing, and be able to read drawings and schematics. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in electronics or a related field, ASQ certification, 3-5 years of experience in the power industry, and Six Sigma or Lean training.
The role is limited to individuals within a 50-mile radius of Richmond, VA, except for active-duty military personnel. No relocation assistance is offered.
