Senior Estimator

Description

As Senior Estimator, you will take ownership of full-cycle estimating from conceptual budgeting through final bid and GMP. You will work closely with preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership to ensure accurate, competitive, and strategic pricing on commercial projects.

• Mentor and support junior estimators as the team continues to grow
• Prepare and present budgets, value engineering options, and cost alternatives to internal teams and clients
• Perform quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and subcontractor scope reviews
• Support GMP development and participate in client meetings when required
• Collaborate with project management and operations during preconstruction and handoff
• Lead the preparation of detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates for commercial construction projects
• Develop and manage bid packages, solicit subcontractor pricing, and level bids
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for completeness and risk

Requirements

• Experience preparing conceptual budgets, hard bids, and GMPs
• Strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects in the Columbus market
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with ownership, operations, and clients
• Proficient with estimating software and tools (e.g. Sage, Bluebeam, Procore, OST, Excel)
• Proven track record estimating ground-up and complex commercial projects
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods
• 6–10+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
