Actively support and participate in, as appropriate, Company business development initiatives
Prepare estimating reports, as necessary
Prepare value engineering and other cost saving initiatives, as appropriate
Identify areas of concern and develop strengths within current estimating team
Prepare Request for Prequalification’s (RFPQ's)
Manage the estimating process from beginning to end and provide appropriate input, technical support and supervision to other estimating staff members involved with assigned estimates
Monitor successful electrical projects so as to be completely aware of actual construction means, methods and costs factors
Manage the vendor and supplier solicitation process to ensure appropriate scope and pricing is obtained and analyzed accordingly
Have an understanding of all Company policies and procedures and support accordingly
Review specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid and project site meetings, etc. to accurately determine the full scope of work and required content of estimates
Prepare detailed cost budgets, as necessary, for successful estimates and participate in client negotiations when required
Review, identify and compile relevant historical data that subsequently can be used in the preparation of all estimates
Manage the preparation of all necessary documents needed for the project turnover process and attend scheduled meetings
As required, prepare all schedules necessary for bid preparation
Assist with all business development efforts including the preparation and presentation of estimates to potential clients
Review all aspects of the final estimates for accuracy and completeness prior to submission
Maintaining subcontractor/Vendor database
Ensure all applicable Company safety policies and procedures are considered and incorporated into the preparation of every estimate
Assist with the collection and maintenance of historical cost data from completed projects and update files accordingly
Review all assumptions used in the estimating process to ensure appropriateness with established Company estimating policies and procedures
Ensure all bid documents and data are updated and maintained at all times to support assigned estimates. Communicate with clients/engineers/architects, as required.

Must be able to prepare complex estimates with minimal supervision.
The position requires someone who is detailed oriented, analytical, organized, is able to meet established deadlines, has strong management and communication skills, and works well in pressure-type situations.
Project field experience is also preferred
A demonstrated knowledge of electrical estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, and computer/cost control/budget systems is also necessary as well as the ability to interpret computerized cost data.
A minimum of a four year electrical engineering degree or equivalent is preferred as well as 5 years’ electrical estimating and construction experience in related industries.
Have a complete working knowledge of the Company’s computerized estimating systems and ensure they are utilized appropriately at all times
